The mobile network 3 has just launched a new frivolous and perhaps daft campaign featuring a plucky little pony called Socks. Socks, the Shetland pony has a secret talent. He is a dancing pony.
The new ad features Socks moon-walking and ‘follying’ around to Fleetwood Mac’s classic ‘Everywhere’. I loved it the moment it started. It’s random, funny and different. I’ve got a feeling this one is going to dominate the Twitter trends tonight!
On the surface, it’s an entertaining advert. But the ad centre’s around building friendships and emphasises on the act of sharing.
What impresses me more about this advert is the interactive element where viewers can create your own ‘dancing pony’ via the PonyMixer.com. You can make Socks dance to Total Eclipse of the Heart, or Run DMC. You can even make Socks rave to Sandstorm. And of course, you can share what creation you come up with.
This is going to keep me entertained for hours. So, here, meet Socks. Socks just made his debut on ITV.
